Daughters of World Champion Randy Meyer, Megan and Rachel Meyer, will visit SRCA Dragstrip in Great Bend, KS for the closing Central Region drag race. Going into the event, Megan is tied for first place with 245 points, and Rachel is currently third with 181 points after winning her last race in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series.
The Meyer Sisters Racing Team previously ran at the infamous SRCA Dragstrip about 10 years ago with their Super Comp Dragsters. Now, they will return in their nitro-injected 4,000 HP Top Alcohol Dragsters.
“I am very excited to be back at this track, it’s a fun regional track, and it’s easy to run up to the fence to watch people race,” said Rachel. “I am very excited for the race this weekend. It will determine a lot in points for me in the Regional standings, as well as the Jegs Allstars series. Most important part is to take it one round at a time, focus on cutting a good light, reacting the correct way if the car starts to shake going down the track, concentrate on adjusting the clutch correctly, as well as getting all my driver duties done. It’s going to be an exciting fun race day on Sunday and I cannot wait.”
“It will be a great weekend for our team,” said Megan. “Rachel and I have never ran our A/Fuel Dragsters here, but we have plenty of data over the years from when our dad was driving. I’m confident both of us will qualify well and go rounds, and park both of these Kansas-based cars in the winner’s circle again where they belong.”
Qualifying for TAD and TAFC will begin on Friday with one session for the eight-car field, followed by two sessions on Saturday. All elimination rounds will be held on Sunday.
